Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. (DBA: Idemitsu Showa Shell) has begun a demonstration experiment of its car sharing business "AutoShare" which utilizes Tajima Ultra Compact Mobility EV in Tateyama City, Chiba Prefecture.

The vehicle used in the demonstration test is the "Tajima JiaYuan Ultra-compact Mobility" equipped with the ride share booking system provided by KDDI Corporation. In this demonstration following Takayama City in Gifu Prefecture, a carport installed with a lightweight CIS Photovoltaic battery system will be used as a station to charge the vehicle, demonstrating a EV car sharing business that utilizes renewable energy.

Four Tajima-JiaYuan ultra-compact mobility cars will be loaned to the local service station operator (Marutaka Oil Co., Ltd.) to provide car sharing services to the general public and businesses.
As for general service, using the space available at local companies and 3 parking lots of Tateyama train station as the hub, they will offer car sharing services to local residents and tourists as a convenient transport for shopping and short distance travel between sightseeing spots. For corporate services, businesses can rent a vehicle and use it as a commercial vehicle on weekdays to use for field sales work or rent the car itself for exclusive use by the company to car share internally. Regular people could enjoy the service to use on weekends or holidays.
